Job Summary

The Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution encourages applications for the Coordinator of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution! The University of Colorado Boulder student conduct and conflict resolution processes are based in a developmental and progressive response to student conduct violations, including academic integrity violations. These processes are aimed at helping students acknowledge responsibility for their actions and assist them in learning behaviors which will help them in being successful members of the CU community. Coordinators are responsible for assessing alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct and Honor Code and determining appropriate actions. This position serves primarily as a facilitator for student conduct and conflict resolution processes and has a high amount of student contact. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Conduct Officer:

  • Adjudicate alleged academic and nonacademic violations of the Student Code of Conduct or Honor Code.
  • Facilitate restorative justice and conflict resolution processes.
  • Monitor students progress in required activities and sanctions, and exercise discretion with the timeline in which activities sanctions must be completed.
  • Adhere to code of conduct due process standards which must comply with Colorado State Statutes and federal laws including, but not limited to, FERPA.
  • Apply effective sanctions that emphasize education, student development and responsible behavior. Initiate referrals when appropriate to resources/departments on campus.
Administration:
  • Maintain files on all assigned cases, track sanctions and investigations as necessary. Provide follow-up contact with students as needed.
  • Coordinate designated programs and special projects.
  • Provide support and feedback for the development of student behavior programs for conduct matters.
Leadership and Teamwork:
  • Provide outstanding leadership for all professional, classified, and student staff in SCCR and the conduct area for the Office of Residence Life.
  • Collaborate with Hall Directors to provide support in their role as hearing officers.
  • Participate on committees within student affairs and the university.
  • Provide support in the development and advancing of the department’s philosophy, mission, and programs.
  • Manage student staff or graduate assistant staff as needed.

What We Can Offer

  • The salary for this position is $53,000 per year.

What We Require

  • Master's degree in higher education administration, conflict resolution, alternative dispute resolution, or a related field equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
  • 2 year of professional experience working one on one with students on a college campus. Professional experience includes full-time employment, and graduate internships and assistantships. Each graduate internship and assistantship is considered .5 years full-time employment.
