On the most beautiful college campus in the country, SMU Mustangs are energized by unbridled opportunities – from teaching, learning and research to creativity, performance and athletic endeavor.About the Position:The College Access Coordinator will assist the Director and Program Leaders of federal funded grant programs (Upward Bound, Upward Bound Math Science, Talent Search and McNair Scholars) with various data management and reporting functions to monitor each program's outcomes.  This position will be responsible for developing and implementing procedures to track student outcomes for annual reports, internal program goals and tracking of program outcomes as related to participants and alumni. The Coordinator must be proficient with computer applications including database tracking systems. Previous experience managing student records, creating reports for education programs, and data analyses is strongly preferred.This position is contingent upon grant/contract funding.Essential Functions:

    Data Management - Reviews files, forms, and other paperwork for completeness and accuracy. Works with federal grant programs to resolve discrepancies related to missing/incomplete information with student records while ensuring student files are kept current.  Facilitates the electronic transfer of data files from school district partners.  Serves as liaison with school partners to obtain student records.Reporting - Generates student enrollment/services reports and project reports as needed. Collaborates with outreach staff to ensure prospective students are transitioned to enrolled status within projects. Ensures projects are serving the required number of students and meet federal eligibility requirements. Coordinates the collection of data and prepares reports for program monitoring.Alumni Tracking - Develops and maintains databases of alumni using information from national databases and information provided by alumni of programs.  Verifies college degree attainment as necessary for Annual Performance Report (APR) for federal grant reporting.Coordination of APR - Supports timely completion of Annual Performance Report (APR) that is delivered to the U.S. Dept. of Education for College Access grant projects. Works with program leaders to obtain updated student information for APR and ensures that data is both accurate and complete. Ensures that student files are complete with documentation to support data submitted for each APR.Administrative Support Functions - Assists Director with planning meetings and events.  Schedules appointments within department and with other individuals or offices as needed.  Assists Financial Specialist by preparing reports, monitoring student workers, submitting requests for equipment service or repair, and helping with office operations.  Assists program leaders as needed with special projects.


Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree is required.  Requires at least two years managing records and generating reports from databases, ideally in an educational setting.  Experience working in youth programs, especially those programs serving at-risk, low-income, and disabled youth is strongly preferred.Experience and proficiency with computer applications including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required. Proficiency with databases and student information databases is also required.  Also, experience with managing large data systems including data collection and reporting for annual reports to the Department of Education.Experience is required with web-based applications; Adobe, Tableau, and federal grant management systems such as Blumen.Project management experience is preferred.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.Candidate must possess strong organizational, time management and project management skills.Must have excellent problem solving and data analysis skills.Candidate must be attentive to detail and highly accurate. Candidate must be able to work collaboratively with others in a team environment.  Physical and Environmental Demands:
