General Description of Position:

The Supervisor of OSP Construction is responsible for providing the highest level of network reliability through on-time construction of the HFC, Copper and Fiber plants.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Directs the installation of outside plant facilities.
• Performs quality control assessment of all plant types.
• Performs skills assessment of assigned Construction Engineers, Construction Leaders, and Construction Assistants.
• Initiates and directs plans to motivate workers to achieve goals, strive for maximum efficiency and to go beyond what is expected.
• Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, disciplinary measures, pay increases, etc.
• Responsible for timely performance evaluation of employees based upon measurable objective criteria.
• Responsible for training and development of all employees.
• Communicates with other departments to ensure service orders are worked in a timely manner.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure effective operation of the department and the Company.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and a minimum 4 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry installing outside plant facilities.
• Team leader or supervisor experience directly related to OSP construction.
• Must be familiar with the IOM requirements to support triple play across copper, HFC, and Fiber to the Home infrastructure.
• Must have working knowledge of Hargray’s HES system.
• Must possess the ability to navigate HES for the purpose of tracking Service Orders, Trouble Tickets, and Facility Records.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Working knowledge of RUS and NEC codes as they apply to the outside plant design and engineering.
