Position Overview

The Milling Operator operates equipment used for milling and removing existing asphalt to prepare the surface for new asphalt.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations of MSHA/OSHA/DOT and Pennsy Supply, Inc.
  
• Conduct daily safety assignments (area inspections, pre-shifts, JSA's, TRACK, etc.
  
• Create level surfaces, grade slopes to specifications, grade aggregate to level surfaces.
  
• Understanding of different types of and classes of aggregates and earth.
  
• Possess a solid understanding of aspects of the road construction industry including preparatory work, grades, drainage, aggregate size, state, federal and local job specifications, machine control guidance, and compaction.
  
• Must be willing and able to perform duties associated with the efficient working condition of the equipment
  
• Minor servicing and maintenance of equipment or refer major problems to the supervisor.
  
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must submit to a drug screen and criminal background check.
  
• Ability to do basic math.
  
• Current driver's license.
  
• Able to work various times during day, night or weekend hours, at various locations.
  

Education/Experience

• High school Diploma or GED equivalent.
  
• 1-2 years of experience preferred.
