The Conflict Analyst is responsible for performing conflict of interest checks on potential new client matters, re-opened matters, and other conflict enquiries to ensure the Firm is aware of situations that present a conflict of interest to its clients.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform research using the Firm's conflicts database and additional web based research as required.
  • Analyze conflict reports and flags information to highlight potential conflicts.
  • Serve as information and procedural resources for attorneys and staff submitting conflict check requests.
  • Review data submitted for accuracy and corresponds with the attorneys/secretaries regarding any questions.
  • Develop possible variations of names while performing data searches.
  • Perform Corporate Family Tree Database Research, including data entry of names and the review of results to determine relevancy to the corporation searched.
  • Research potential clients and other parties utilizing Lexis and Westlaw as required by matter type.
  • Review search results utilizing established guidelines.
  • Distribute the conflict report to the attorneys for review and clearance.
  • Follow-up on outstanding responses until resolution is achieved.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Client Intake & Conflicts Supervisor or the Director of Information Governance.

  • Strong analytical skills, as well as ability to organize and produce detailed and accurate work.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team oriented with the ability to work independently, with minimum supervision.

  • Dedication to performing the highest level of customer service.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Prior law firm experience preferred but not required.
  • Solid working knowledge of Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010, Outlook and experience with conflicts software.
  • Experience with Elite or InTapp preferred.

Additional Information:

Work Environment - This position operates onsite in a professional office environment with the opportunity to work remote.

Position Type/Expected Work Hours - This is a full-time non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Overtime may be required as job duties demand.

Travel - Little to no travel is anticipated.
