Overview

Summary:
The responsibilities of the Compliance Specialist are to assist with the creation, coordination, processing and implementation of insurance product filings; perform regulatory research; and provide additional support and other regulatory functions as directed. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities (Specialty Programs):


  1. Draft and format rate, rule and form pages as needed, with direction
  2. Prepare support documentation required to file a product
  3. Work closely with the Filing Department; respond to state insurance department inquiries
  4. Coordinate with multiple functional areas to resolve state objections in a timely manner, and as otherwise necessary
  5. Monitor filing process, and disseminate information as needed to the appropriate departments
  6. Perform research and provide evaluations regarding new product filing requests
  7. Participate in research and project initiatives as directed
  8. Keeps current with market trends and demands
  9. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned


Qualifications

Required:
  1. Bachelor's Degree required
  2. Minimum of 2 years property/casualty insurance work experience
  3. Familiarity with regulatory compliance issues, state insurance law and product filing requirements
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) products
  5. Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
  6. Ability to interact with people at all levels of the corporate structure
  7. Quick learner with a strong desire to take on additional responsibilities and stretch outside his/her comfort zone
  8. Self-motivated team player with the proven ability to work independently and prioritize and handle numerous competing demands in a high-volume, fast-paced working environment, frequently under urgent deadlines
  9. Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
  10. Ability to handle confidential information sensitively and discreetly


Preferred:

Experience in multiple commercial insurance lines as either a regulatory/compliance professional, underwriter or business/operations analyst
