We are searching for a smart and proactive Communications Associate. This individual will play a crucial role supporting company projects and initiatives, while also delivering on team objectives. The Communications Associate will function as a supporting member of DraftKings' Communications Department, working across the team in a variety of areas including consumer, corporate, CSR, awards, speaking engagements and social media.

What you'll do as a Corporate Communications Associate :

  • Assist in developing and drafting communications-related materials including but not limited to press releases, prep documents, media pitches, social copy, award submissions, speaking engagement proposals, and LinkedIn news content.
  • Begin building relationships with business, sports, entrepreneurial, tech, employer and CSR media to garner a steady stream of timely coverage.
  • Proactively research and present potential story angles and other public-facing opportunities for DraftKings.
  • Research and manage ongoing opportunities for DraftKings' executive visibility, company-related awards and executive social media content.
  • Assist in development of internal and external presentation decks and performance recaps.
  • Develop comprehensive coverage reports following tentpole corporate announcements.
  • Update and maintain detailed media lists.
  • Monitor and track media coverage and team email alias for incoming media requests.
  • Support administrative efforts including agendas, daily, weekly, and monthly media monitoring, and conference call coordination.

What you'll bring:
  • At least 1 year of work experience, ideally agency or in-house corporate communications and/or social media.
  • The ability to follow the pace of sports storylines and availability to work weekends and holidays, depending on game schedules.
  • Creativity and quick-thinking, along with strong writing skills.
  • Equal parts creativity and strategy with an excitement for DraftKings' mission and products.
  • Charismatic communication skills with passion for developing deep relationships with a wide range of media.
