Job Summary
This leader will oversee a team of internal marketing subject matter experts and partners with an assigned revenue generating business unit(s) to develop and execute strategies and annual plans that promote the growth, retention, and recruiting strategies that result in achievement of business and revenue goals. Incumbent will oversee the development of marketing tactics for the business, inclusive of growth initiatives, sales coaching and communications, growth initiative technology innovation and implementation, associated vendor management as well as event marketing; and will work closely with marketing partners on all related advertising design, content development, lifecycle marketing, and market research. This leader will also track the performance of marketing efforts, and identify opportunities to modify the approach and re-launch, as necessary. This position will also work with Sales, IT, Sales Support, Legal, Compliance, Product, and Finance. Position is responsible for working in close partnership with the CMO and marketing peers to ensure all activities build the Flagstar brand, and align with processes and procedures at the function level.

Pay Range: $86,200.00 - $125,600.00 - $165,000.00

Job Responsibilities:

  • Market Research and Strategy Development: Identify, develop, and evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of established objectives, market characteristics, and product offerings. Initiate market research studies and analyze their findings. Understand the competition and research, evaluate and recommend opportunities for market expansion. Use sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products, lines, or services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends. Act as the expert on Flagstar's current and potential customer base, understanding their demographics and buying patterns. Identify growth opportunities including niche market needs projecting the potential business unit revenue and expense of each opportunity.
  • Strategic Partnership: Provide strategy and oversee direct services to business line, including individual project requests and management of deliverables related to: information, collateral, reporting, CRM Marketing automation platform, internal event hosting/design, sales rankings, research, presentations, customer satisfaction, and other projects. Work with business leaders and other marketing disciplines to prioritize, track, and execute solutions based on business unit's objectives that provide return on investment, including implementation, timing, and overall strategic fit. Measure ROI of each effort to track performance.
  • Budget and Plan Execution: Establish, within existing marketing budget, an annual tactical marketing plan that achieves business unit and brand objectives. Formulate, direct, and coordinate marketing team's activities, such as efforts and capabilities involving advertising, collateral/content, direct mail, social media and web acquisition, recruiting, onboarding, coaching, platforms/systems, in alignment with the annual plan, and in cooperation with agency partners.
  • Leadership: Recruit and develop talent including performance evaluation, goal setting/achievement, and coaching through individual and team meetings. Resolve issue service escalations and be accountable for overall work product of the team. Contribute to overall quality of the organization by supporting governance and administrative practices.
  • Brand Alignment: Work closely with other marketers and business partners to continually evolve, and improve the customer experience, in alignment with the Flagstar brand.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Completes all required compliance training. Maintains knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Takes responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Finance, or related required.
  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, Economics, or Finance preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience working in Marketing, financial experience strongly preferred.
  • 5 years of experience with marketing channel management including - Direct Mail, Digital Marketing, Content Marketing, Website/Email, Advertising, Social Media.
  • Ability to articulate a vision and strategy in a way that inspires and mobilizes a team and focuses their energy on achieving business goals.
  • Ability to lead a proactive marketing team and ensure accountability for results that maximize contribution to business objectives.
  • Previous experience developing and managing marketing strategies and plans that drive business development.
  • Proven success building interdepartmental relationships with business leaders in retail, mortgage, servicing, IT, and finance to best understand business objectives and priorities.
  • Proven success building relationships within the Marketing function, driving partnerships that further brand and experience, business results, analytical learning, customer lifetime value, and a cohesive team approach.
  • Demonstrated experience with the unique regulatory environment that affects bank advertising, including but not limited to SAFE Act, UDAAP, RESPA Section 8, TILA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM Act and Fair Lending.
  • Ability to coordinate execution of strategy with a cross-functional team of business leaders and marketing disciplines.
  • Strong analytic skills.
  • Strong understanding of the principles and practices of business finance.
  • Proven ability to influence others through use and analysis of data and information.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable working with business leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: up to 25% travel.
