Position Overview:

This role will have direct marketing and commercial accountability for ethanol and biodiesel storage and rack butane blending at Motiva's equity terminals.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver financial performance of the ethanol terminaling and storage agreement and rack butane blending business.
  • Develop competitive landscape of ethanol terminaling businesses in Motiva geography.
  • Work effectively with other internal stakeholders (Motiva Trading, Terminals & Pipelines, Supply Ops), with competing priorities, in order to achieve end to end value.
  • Deliver financial contribution to distribution revenue from ethanol storage as well as butane blending which is ~ $ 25 to 40 mln/year.
  • Negotiate with 3rd parties for butane rack blending agreements (~3 contracts, $2 mln/year.)
  • Identify new ethanol opportunities and perform associated analysis to support business decisions that optimize and increase value creation (~ $20 mln.)
  • Understand the ethanol market including industry supply/demand and storage footprint.
  • Manage 3rd party contract performance through key performance indicators.
  • Work closely with Schedulers to ensure customers are meeting contractual obligations.
  • Foster effective 3rd party relationships with butane blending suppliers and third party customers without losing commercial/negotiating edge
  • Possess solid commercial acumen to deliver solutions while maximizing value of Motiva assets.
  • Comply with Motiva contracting process.
  • Optimize ethanol assets by leading projects to maximize value for Motiva.
  • Work closely with supply and logistics technical team and Motiva Trading.
  • Responsible for Motiva's Distilled Spirits Permits.
  • Identify and lead butane blending rack expansion projects.
  • Enter and maintain contracts in Right Angle .
  • Travel Required

Experience and Qualifications Required:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Business or engineering degree
  • 7+ years direct commercial or logistics experience
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Terminal operations knowledge a plus
  • Strong team skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with balanced understanding of business risk and reward
  • High level of personal initiative with the ability to achieve goals
  • Ability to deliver results through others and maximize business results
  • Flexibility to changing business requirements and managing challenging situations.
