We are looking for an individual to work in our Comstock Park, MI manufacturing plant to perform manual labor to program, set up, and operate a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, maintaining quality and safety standards. This is a third shift opportunity.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ability to read and comprehend engineered drawings
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
  • Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches. Calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces; adhering to company and even international standards
  • Complete daily production logs
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections (PMs) on necessary equipment or machines involved with current job
  • Clean and maintain work area as instructed
  • Turn off and even lock out equipment when not in use
Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide on-the-job training to new employees
  • Notify Supervisors when inventory levels are low
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required
  • 4-5 years of vocational education and/or on-the-job training
  • Demonstrate adequate visual acuity, cognitive ability, auditory capacity, and communication skills to perform essential job functions consistent with safety procedures and production standards
  • Possess necessary functional and technical skills required to operate a CNC, including but not limited to CAD/CAM technology
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted required
  • Able to stand, walk, bend and twist for at least seven hours per day
  • US Citizen or Green Card holder
