Position Summary

$1,000 Sign On Bonus (after 90 days of employment)

The CNC Programmer will be responsible for developing software programs that direct CNC (computer numerically controlled) for 5 Axis and 4 Axis CNC Machines to cut and shape metal to produce components for aerospace applications, which result in precise finished components. In addition, The CNC Programmer will be using 3-dimensional computer designs (CAD models) and/or blueprints that define the configuration of the required components. The CNC Programmer will use CAD/CAM software to generate program codes that controls the operations of a CNC machines, such as mills and lathers.
Essential Responsibilities

  • Analyze job orders
  • Review CAD models and/or blueprints
  • Make calculations to determine where materials should be cut
  • Define the best sequence of machining steps.
  • Determine tools, speeds, feeds and fixtures to be used
  • Run simulation tests
  • Conduct quality testing and correct/improve program code to increase efficiency, quality and safety
  • Communicate with other programmers, shop floor management, machinists/setup operators and engineering to achieve solutions to both Capacity planning and quality level.
  • Develop Programs which will allow to run parts meeting all the machining guarding safety requirements.

Position Requirements

  • 5-10 years of CNC programming
  • Knowledge of 5 axis and CNC Programming preferred
  • Strong computers and CAD/ CAM software skills
  • Good level of math skills
  • 3-dimensional thinking.
  • Great attention to details
  • Capable of working independently
  • Comfortable having responsibility and being accountable for his/her work.
  • Good communication skills
  • Familiar with SMED and Kaizen techniques
  • High School diploma or GED
