General Description:

The Cloud Services Administrator is responsible for all cloud hosted and/or hybrid systems, services, and applications that support the mission of the institution including automation, directory services, e-mail services, learning management systems, virtual servers, and backup systems. This position works alongside of the Senior Systems Administrator under the supervision of the Director of IT Infrastructure.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Three years full time work experience with Microsoft infrastructure and/or cloud components or equivalent experience in similar environments.

One or more Microsoft Certifications relevant to cloud administration

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to diagnose problems or malfunctions and accomplish repairs in a minimal amount of time.
Ability to make independent decisions quickly in emergency situations.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to make skillful, controlled manipulations of small objects such as wiring, tools, and small equipment parts.
Ability to learn job-related material through oral instructions, observation, structured lecture, and reading.
Ability to enter data or information into a computer terminal, personal computer, or other keyboard device.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and algebra.
Knowledge of the uses, calibration, and care of electronic test equipment, specialized test equipment, and diagnostics used for troubleshooting server systems.
Knowledge of basic scripting
Knowledge of cable distribution and basic principles of electricity.
Knowledge of standard Ethernet wiring, color coding, and connection schemes.
Ability to establish priorities for own workload.
Ability to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
Knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server administration, e-mail systems, web-based applications, and instructional support technology.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light work: The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to students, faculty, staff, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.

This position requires the person to frequently move about the College campus and off-site locations to perform the essential functions of the position.

This position frequently requires the person to operate a computer and other office equipment to perform the essential functions of the position.

This position requires the person to frequently perform tasks that involve repetitive motions of hands, fingers, and wrists.

This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.

This position requires the person to frequently position self to access materials that may be above head or at ground level.

This position requires the person to frequently position self to work with equipment and/or assist employees.

This position requires the person to use upper and lower body to exert force up to 20 pounds to grasp, push, pull, lift, or carry materials or equipment.

3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.

4. WORKING CONDITIONS
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor, office setting.

Advanced certification such as:
70-346 Managing Office 365 Identities and Requirements

70-347: Enabling Office 365 Services

MS-500 Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate

Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator

Work Hours:

8am to 5pm Monday - Friday
Weekends, holidays, and after hours as required.

Job Duties (Position Specific):

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement):

Install, maintain, and administer Microsoft 365 environment including synchronization with on premises Microsoft Active Directory Services infrastructure.
Administer cloud hosted email systems, course management systems, and distributed learning systems.
Provision and administer user credentials, access rights, permissions, and control systems.
Install, maintain, and administer cloud hosted network services.
Generate reports and documentation as directed to support cost analysis of cloud services.
Evaluate and enforce retention policies for cloud hosted systems and services.
Provide technical leadership and continued development of assigned systems.
Respond to server resource monitoring alerts.
Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve daily backup process failures.
Monitor and work customer support tickets and requests.

Other duties as assigned.

Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.

Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.

Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC's established safety and health procedures and practices.

Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation and shelter in place drills and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
