Position Summary:

Dexcom is a high-growth, fast-paced environment where you will work with industry experts and leading-edge technologies to secure a global IT environment supporting over 4000 employees across 12 sites and multiple cloud environments. The Dexcom IT Department is expanding its information security program and onboarding a Cloud Security Staff Engineer to secure Dexcom IT's cloud environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and manage security controls in a public cloud platform (such as AWS, Azure or GCP) and across IaaS, SaaS and/or Kubernetes/container environments.
  • Perform security assessments and provide recommendations and consulting on securing cloud infrastructure and in selecting and implementing cloud security tools.
  • Design and manage security monitoring and threat detection systems for cloud environments.
  • Develop incident response tools/capabilities and lead forensics investigations.
  • Support vulnerability scanning and penetration testing activities for cloud workloads.
  • Serve as a security expert and provide guidance and technical leadership to other staff members.
  • Keep abreast of and provide recommendations on emerging security technologies/tools.
  • Support compliance/certification activities and participate in security audits/reviews.

Essential Skills:
  • BS/MS in computer science/engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in the cybersecurity, IT, or engineering fields; with at least 2 years in a security engineer role.
  • Strong understanding of security controls/services in public cloud environments.
  • Experience in threat detection, monitoring, log management, incident response, and forensics.
  • Experience in IAM, secrets management, encryption technologies, OS security hardening, SaaS services hardening, and container security.
  • Proficient in automation and scripting in a programming language such as Python or Go.
  • Experience with Linux administration, shell scripting, and open source security tools.
  • Experience securing infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, YAML, etc.

Exempt Salary Details

The annual base salary range for this role is $141,800 to $236,400. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.

Experience and Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 8-12 years related experience or Masters degree and 5-7 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 2-4 years of experience.
