Position Overview: The Cloud Security Analyst is part of the PacificSource Information Security team. The Analyst collaborates with a diverse and multi-disciplinary team driving cyber security best practices and safeguards to secure cloud services and environments. The position is the primary security interface with development teams, architects, engineers, and operational teams involved in cloud-related projects and services.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop/Deploy/Support Application & Infrastructure security checks and guardrails throughout the lifecycle
  • Design and implement technology solutions to assess, monitor, and enforce security requirements across all cloud environments
  • Administration and management of cloud security tools and third-party Security as a Service solutions
  • Ensure end to end effectiveness of cyber security controls
  • Conduct security assessments and articulate identified security issues/vulnerabilities to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Identify, research, and validate known and unknown vulnerabilities on Cloud environments/infrastructure
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary teams to identify gaps, address findings, and improve breach response in cloud environments
  • Provide security consulting services to internal users, within PacificSource
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all cloud assets
  • Support, drive, and contribute to security awareness within the organization, around secure use of cloud services and technology.

Work Experience: Pre-requisites for this position are at 2 years of experience on most of the following areas:
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of cloud security concepts and best practices
  • Hands-on experience with cloud security tools and Security as a Service solutions
  • Familiarity with securing containers and container orchestration frameworks
  • Security-oriented mindset (threat-modeling, vulnerability assessments, pen testing, etc.)

Information security experience with HIPAA, HITECH, HITRUST, and PCI are a plus.

Education, Certificates, Licenses: Computer Science Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Candidates should have knowledge of the tools and processes to provide operational security support to our cloud ecosystem.

Industry-accredited certifications will be required. Candidates with cloud security certifications (ex: AWS Certified Security Specialty, GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer, Azure Security Engineer Associate, etc.), non-security Cloud certifications (AWS SysOp Admin, AWS Solutions Architect Associate/professional, GCP Associate Cloud Engineer, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, etc.) and other security certifications (for example: OSCP,OSCE, GXPN,GPEN, GCIH, GWAPT, etc.) will be preferred. Candidates without certification must be willing to pursue them during the course of employment.

Environment: Work inside in a general office setting with ergonomically configured equipment. Travel is required approximately 5% of the time.

Physical Requirements: Stoop and bend. Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time while performing core job functions. Repetitive motions to include typing, sorting and filing. Light lifting and carrying of files and business materials. Ability to read and comprehend both written and spoken English. Communicate clearly and effectively.
