Our core values are compassion, excellence, humility, integrity, justice, teamwork and wholeness.The Clinical Nurse B performs nursing process with minimal supervision; seeks assistance as necessary. Utilizes discretion and independent judgment in applying the nursing process to the provision of age-specific and developmentally appropriate quality patient care. Functions in a skills mix environment and directly supervises and delegates tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff. Meets qualifications, licensure, certifications, and competencies. Applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in area of specialty. Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, safe patient care, and professionalism. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as needed.Associate`s Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Minimum one year of experience of medical/surgery preferred. Minimum one year of age group experience preferred. Minimum one year of experience in acute psychiatric of age group and chemical dependency and detox preferred.Knowledge of psychotropic medications. Knowledge of appropriate age group. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment; perform technical patient care activities. Ability to speak clearly in person and over the phone; ability to write clearly and concisely; ability to listen well and interact appropriately with other employees and outside agencies; ability to input data into computer; good eye-hand coordination. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Ability to develop positive therapeutic interactions with patient, patient families, co-workers, supervisors, medical staff and outside agencies; maintains calm demeanor in crisis situations. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; perform basic math functions; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Delegates effectively. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to assess patients conditions, interpret care plan, comprehend appropriate interventions, evaluate patient response to care, teach patients and families; requires higher level mental faculties accompanied by short and long-term memory; ability to concentrate on several assignments simultaneously; ability to edit, organize and prioritize workload; ability to work with limited supervision; ability to execute duties in an efficient manner with attention to detail; ability to receive and accurately carry out instructions. Able to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place/patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch.Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Psychiatric nursing or clinical specialist certification preferred. Chemical dependency nursing certification or specialist preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.Additional Information
