Job Description:
The Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences (DCNHS), Division of Health and Wellness Studies, seeks applicants for a Clinical Instructor in Chemistry. This full-time (10 month), non-tenure track faculty position has an anticipated start date of Fall 2024, and is renewable annually.
The successful candidate will possess strong teaching and evaluation skills with an interest in research. We are seeking applicants with expertise in a transdisciplinary approach to chemistry, health, curriculum development, research, and grant writing. Collaborative qualities of the candidate are essential as evidenced by previous work on cooperative interdisciplinary projects and/or grant applications.
Preference will be given to candidates who have taught in higher education and have experience teaching a broad chemistry curriculum (including labs) in a traditional and on-line environment. The position will require teaching Introduction Chemistry and Organic Chemistry for students in a Health Science undergraduate program. Additional faculty responsibilities may include student advising, committee assignments, scholarship, and service to the university. Experience with a variety of technology including on-line learning environments and innovative classroom/laboratory teaching is preferred.
Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience and academic preparation. The Division of Health and Wellness emphasizes teaching, research, and service. Requirements:
Qualified applicants must hold a minimum of a Master's degree in a related field with preference given to doctoral candidates (ABD) or (PhD) in Chemistry. A minimum of 3 years of teaching in a higher education setting is preferred.
