Primary Duties:Under general direction of the WellCat Services (WCS) Director, the WellCat Counseling Center (WCCC) Clinical Director will serve to re-imagine and implement the next generation of counseling services aimed at meeting the psychological and developmental needs of the student community, and will provide considerable leadership to 12 - 14 professional staff plus additional graduate trainees that are committed to serving a diverse student body of over 16,000 undergraduate and graduate students. As described below, this individual shall provide oversight to the Center's clinical training programs and serve as an administrative leader of the Center; and will fulfill various clinical responsibilities as a licensed therapist.
The WCCC Clinical Director will be charged with developing a business plan to shape the delivery of innovative, high quality, student-centric counseling services, incorporating holistic practices which are central to WellCat Services' mission; possessing an interest, openness and experience with expressive therapies, mindfulness, and other alternative modalities; building a strategic plan to meet the objectives identified; providing overall operational, clinical, and inspirational leadership of the WCCC; providing direct short-term individual, group and teletherapy psychological counseling and crisis intervention services to a diverse and neurodiverse population of undergraduate and graduate students; providing referral services to outside resources when a higher level of care is needed; maintaining an active and current resource and referral network; providing consultation and support for students, faculty and staff during crisis situations; providing consultation and education to faculty and staff regarding student behavioral and emotional issues, classroom concerns and current behavioral health issues; directing the graduate internship training program; building effective, diverse, and connected teams; maintaining and promoting the highest ethical and professional standards; and working collaboratively with departments across campus to address coordinated student support.

MANDATORY VACCINATIONS

Master's degree from a regionally-accredited university, in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or other closely related discipline.
Must hold appropriate State of California licensure (psychologist, LMFT, LCSW) or have the ability to obtain this within the first year.
AND
Minimum of three years' experience as a staff member in a clinical and/or counseling setting, at least one of which should be in a clinical and/or administrative supervisory capacity.
Experience supervising internships or equivalent which included clinical assessment, counseling and crisis intervention, preferably with a diverse college-age population.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Works at a desk for long periods of time with frequent opportunities to move to other locations within the building and across campus. Work is performed in a typical office environment operating standard office equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office environment requiring sitting, walking, bending, squatting, twisting, and other motions commonly found in an office setting. May include days that include several hours of work on a computer to finish reports or documentation for processes or procedures, etc. Meets with individuals and groups and, at times, face demanding situations. Light lifting and carrying, often files or documents carried from one location to another; moving within the campus with occasional construction sites or student gatherings requiring awareness of conditions that may exist. Works with and attends meetings at the WellCat Health Center and may be exposed to illnesses.

Benefit Information:CSU, Chico offers a number of benefits to its employees (e.g., sick leave, vacation, health insurance). Eligibility for standard CSU benefits is based on an appointment of half-time or more for a period exceeding six months. Employees appointed less than half-time or less than six months are not eligible for standard CSU benefits but do receive prorated sick leave and vacation.
Eligibility for Affordable Care Act (ACA) benefits is based on an appointment of at least three-quarter time, hired to work a minimum of 130 hours per month over the course of the appointment or works an average of 130 hours or more per month during the measurement period. The ACA guidelines provide for health coverage or FlexCash only. ACA does not provide dental or vision plan coverage.
