The Claims Intern will be trained in-house by PMA's team of Workers' Compensation and Casualty claims experts and will assist with various claims related functions. The Claims Intern will interact with claim experts across departments to gain insight on the operations of our claims organization.

Responsibilities:

• Participation in and completion of training including claims system training, best practices, job shadowing, etc.
• Provide coverage of daily tasks for claims teams as assigned
• Assist with claims related projects and research as assigned
• Utilize customer service and analytical skills to assist customers with the claims process
• Execute job duties towards achieving desired business goals and meet the internship requirements for your school, if applicable.
• Demonstrate commitment to Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and apply knowledge of compliance policies and procedures, standards and laws applicable to job responsibilities in the performance of work.

Requirements:

• Current or entering Junior or Senior in a qualified college or university with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
• Major in Risk Management preferred but not required.
• 1-2 years of service oriented work experience.
• Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proven critical thinking skills that demonstrate analysis/judgment and sound decision making with focus on attention to details.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
• Computer literacy, including working knowledge of MS Office Product Suite, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and an ability to learn PMA's claims system.
