Full-time Support Staff

Reporting to the Student Technology and Library Services Manager, the Circulation Assistant provides basic circulation services and support for the campus libraries.

Perform basic circulation services and cataloging functions including charging and discharging items, registering users, routing intercampus requests, and processing library materials.

Maintain integrity of Reserves including receiving and processing items, updating faculty and course records, and monitoring relevancy of collection.

Provide circulation system and procedural training for staff.

Assist and instruct the college community with use of library equipment and services.

Coordinate and support outreach activities.

Maintain inventory of unit supplies.

Provide answers to telephone, email, and live-chat inquiries

Perform library opening and closing procedures.

Perform duties and complete projects as assigned by the student technology and library services manager.

Support the campus libraries.

Provide basic assistance with college technology such as: Canvas LMS, Zoom, mywcc, and student email.

Minimum Qualifications

LTA certification; or equivalent library experience.

One year library experience; experience in an academic environment preferred.

Experience with office applications and library software.

Ability to work independently and demonstrate accuracy with data entry.

Excellent customer service skills; strong interpersonal skills.

Understanding of and commitment to the service role of the library in a learner-centered environment.
