Where will you work:

Onsite - Carlsbad, New Mexico (PO Box 71 - 1361 Potash Mines Road - Carlsbad, NM 88220)

Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.

Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically, 36-40 hrs a week on site.

Chemist Technician Co-op/Intern

The Chemist Technician Co-Op/Intern at Mosaic will be assisting in the analysis of routine and non-routine samples and will be assigned to projects focused on improving the Quality Control Lab and instrumentation. What will you do?

  • Assignments will involve learning all aspects of working in the Quality Control Lab including analysis of Production, mining and shipping samples
  • Calibration and maintenance of QC Lab instruments including ICP-OES and Xray Diffraction
  • Engage in self-development to enrich your skillset to fulfill your career aspirations.

What do you need for this role?
  • Sophomore level or higher pursuing bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related degree preferred
  • XRD instrument experience considered an asset
  • 2.75 GPA or higher
  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment
  • Student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is required
  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Experience working in a team environment is a must
  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable
  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus
  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
