The Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for an energetic and ambitious analyst to join the fast-growing Wealth Management team. The team develops the research agenda, produces proprietary content and thought leadership, and provides advice to executives across the wealth management landscape including financial institutions, asset management firms, TAMPs and fintech vendors.

You will be a key contributor to driving growth in both Wealth Management research and its client base and will have the opportunity to bring your creative ideas. The role entails conducting primary research on myriad topics within financial services technology, producing insightful reports, preparing and delivering engaging client, conference, and webinar presentations; collecting and curating primary and secondary data; and conducting interviews, surveys, and briefings. Additionally, the analyst will participate in short high-impact strategy consulting engagements.

Research: Conduct leading-edge research and publish content with focus on technology trends and implications for corporate and transaction banking. This may include technology trends, how emerging technologies can be deployed for strategic advantage, and profiling technology solutions to help our clients navigate a complex technology landscape. You will also be asked to participate in the development of the team's data strategy.

Strategy consulting: Work directly with our clients to address specific strategic issues where technology has a major impact. This may include technology strategy workshops, solution due diligence, market entry/expansion strategy, thought leadership pieces, and speaking engagements.

Individual profile and Celent brand promotion: Develop a high profile and strengthen the company brand in your domain and region of expertise. This includes regular discussions and interactions with Celent clients, presenting at banking forums and conferences, and being available to the technology community for discussions and questions.

Your Attributes and Experience

We are looking for a candidate who has a passion for and competency in understanding the potential business value of technology across the wealth management industry. We seek a person with a keen interest in how the sector and technology-led innovations will evolve over the next few years and beyond.

We anticipate that candidates with experience in strategy, IT architecture, and/or project/product management, especially digital transformation will excel in this role.

The candidate should enjoy research, especially interview-based research, and writing. The person should be comfortable with and capable of building trusted relationships with clients who are often senior executives.

Academic background:

  • Excellent academic credentials from a top university.
  • MBA or other advanced degrees (MS, PhD, etc.), in or with option in data or computer science is preferred.

Professional experience:
  • 3 - 4 years experience in a top financial institution (wealth management preferred) with some responsibility for technology strategy, or product/project management or
  • 3 - 4 years experience in a management consulting firm, or other research & advisory firm in a strategy, research, or consulting role with at technology focus.

Skill and expertise:
  • Intellectual curiosity and the drive to learn about and master new areas
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative approach to working in a global, culturally diverse environment
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Growing public profile and reputation with strong public speaking and facilitation skills
  • Strong understanding of research methods, qualitative and quantitative
  • A working knowledge of the role technology plays in shaping wealth management
  • A keen interest in understanding emerging technologies and their relationship to fintech innovations
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently

Location:
  • Location is flexible, either in North America or Europe.
