Overview

The Manager of Housekeeping has 2 Fulltime salaried positions, Assistant Manager of Housekeeping and Assistant Manager of Laundry as direct reports, part time and seasonal reports are 6 hourly supervisors, 20-30 housekeepers, 6 housemen and 16 laundry staff members. Supervises and reviews the work of subordinate managerial staff. Performs related administrative and Supervisory duties as required.

Qualifications

  • 4 years or more of housekeeping experience, 2 in a leadership role
  • Preferred experience in hotel, campground or theme park
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays periods to meet business needs
  • Ability to pass mandatory ( or random) drug test, per company policy
  • Ability to pass a background check which may include, but is not limited to credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment education and personal references, per company policy
Responsibilities

  • Under limited supervisions oversees the daily inspection of cabins, public spaces, laundry, and employee areas as well as review comments and shift reports to determine the resorts overall level of cleanliness and make adjustments when needed.  Works with the General Manager to ensure the resources required to support the business are effectively procured, trained and developed. Maintains effective communication with all employees and staff members.
  • Supervises subordinate housekeeping and laundry team members; supervisory duties include instructing; assigning, reviewing and planning work of others; maintaining standards; coordinating activities; allocating personnel; selecting new employees; training/development; acting on employee problems; recommending and approving employee promotions, transfers and discipline, and recommending discipline and/or discharge. Responsible for engagement activities and motivates management and associates to achieve excellence in individual performance. 
  • Lead by example by encouraging a workplace surrounded by respect, trust, cooperation, among team members
  • Manages and controls housekeeping inventory which includes purchases, and reorders of housekeeping supplies
  • Collaborates closely with peers, partners within the chain, and corporate partners to achieve and organizational goals. Solicits guidance and support from leadership and peers as needed.
  • Prepares and updates rotation cleaning duties (e.g. steam clean carpets, winter cleaning, deep cleaning etc.) to be completed by housekeeping staff
  • Provide break and meal periods to subordinates in compliance with park, state, and/or federal guidelines.  Support park execution on scheduling, time and attendance requirements in accordance with scope of position expectations.
