Overview

Under limited supervision, plans, directs and oversees the operation of the security and aquatics programs across the resort to provide a secure and safe environment for resort associates, guests and property.  Champions security and safety awareness programs across the property to reduce the risk of serious incidents.  Supervises the work of subordinate associates.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of security/ lifeguard experience, 1 to 2 years in a leadership role
  • Ability to become an Ellis Certified lifeguard trainer
  • Passion to lead the resort with safety of all guests and staff and number one priority
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays periods to meet business needs
  • Ability to pass mandatory ( or random) drug test, per company policy
  • Ability to pass a background check which may include, but is not limited to credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment education and personal references, per company policy

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversees supervision of subordinate security and aquatic personnel, which includes instructing, assigning, reviewing, and delegating while maintaining standards, coordinating activities, assisting in recruiting and selection of new associates, mediating guest and associate concerns, implementing employee promotions or transfers and recommending discipline and/or discharge
  • Oversees all phases of the park’s security program, including access control, operational areas, and physical security
  • Develops and implements resort standard operating guidelines in accordance with company standards and with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.  Designs and oversee and / or conducts employee training associated with these guidelines
  • Coaches, mentors, and leads assigned team members.  Timely addresses and resolves guest and team questions, concerns, and situations.  Determines action required for discrepancies regarding compliance and adherence to park and government regulations and laws. Coordinates with General Manager on recommended action steps
  • Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other park management staff and employees, subordinates, corporate personnel, guests, vendors, emergency response personnel, law enforcement personnel, insurance representatives, auditors, inspectors, etc
  • Oversees budget expenditures and supply usage.  Purchases departmental supplies
  • Coordinates security and emergency protocols with local emergency response agencies.  Coordinates daily activities and assigns  rotation responsibilities  for after-hour emergencies and incident reporting. Compiles injury and incident metrics, looking for trends that can potentially be prevented
  • Provide break and meal periods to subordinates in compliance with park, state, and/or federal guidelines.  Support park execution on scheduling, time and attendance requirements in accordance with scope of position expectations
  • Other duties as assigned
