Qualifications

Office of Research, Innovation and Economic Development, Division of Research Administration (DRA) is seeking to hire a Business System Analyst. The principle responsibilities are as follows:

  • Identifies, evaluates, supports, and solves complex issues related to sponsored projects accounting logistics.
  • Performs extensive problem analysis, design, system development, and documentation as necessary to complete specific assignments.
  • Makes independent decisions within scope on development of software solutions.
  • Identifies, researches, and disseminates new technologies as appropriate.
  • Creates and maintains dashboards/visualizations to help users make data-driven decisions, such as resource allocation and customer trends.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors internal controls to enhance data integrity, portfolio management, and worklist compliance.
  • Extracts data from the university accounting system to create dashboards and reports for accountants to review audit-sensitive areas and to confirm expenses are allowable, allocable, reasonable, and compliant with contract terms.
  • Serves as liaison between technical and end-user stakeholders to minimize missteps and optimizes solutions as the department visualizes, designs, develops, implements, and executes process improvements.
  • Collaborates and engages (directly or indirectly via survey) with stakeholders to evaluate their needs and then develops and implements customer-focused solutions.  
  • Develops and presents training to end users, including external customers and campus-wide departments, to ensure streamlining initiatives and their various applications are implemented and integrated into customer and campus operations smoothly.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and one to three years of experience in process improvement analysis or one to three years of professional experience in data analysis.
