Business Engineering is a highly technical team that works with our strategic partners to integrate Meta products into their mobile platforms, apps, devices as well as our AR/VR platforms. Business Engineers bring deep technical knowledge of Android platforms to lead highly visible initiatives and launch impactful products with our strategic mobile partners.Our Business Engineering team has managed several programs; the Facebook Preloads Program with our mobile partners on more than 1 billion Android devices and enabled various features & services from Meta apps to mobile partner devices, RL devices initiatives which involves bringing key partners and experiences on to our device platforms such as Oculus and Portal, and our Strategic Alliances program which helps drive the direction of Android, and its adoption, inside Meta; and in collaboration with key partners.You will engage with some of the world's most influential companies to drive Meta family of apps' compatibility and quality on partner devices, internally with our Product team to enhance those apps, pushing new experiences forward by integrating innovative partner apps and services on our RL devices (Oculus, Portal etc.). You will be directly involved in helping drive feature innovation at the platform and app level, while also supporting app release and compliance, across the Meta family of apps. The ideal candidate will combine technical and business skills to make our partners successful and improve Meta apps quality on their devices.

Business Engineer, Android AOSP Responsibilities:

  • Deep expertise of the Android landscape and strong influence over product solutions and product roadmap
  • Finds large scale problems and architects solutions using own discretion and expertise
  • Drive the delivery of new projects and/or systems that increase efficiency and scalability of Meta family of apps & AR/VR apps with minimal oversight
  • Lead technical strategy and roadmap for long-term strategic partners with high level of autonomy/own and navigate long term technical relationship with partners
  • Identify risk to Meta and partners, seek to address partner problems independently or in collaboration with internal resources
  • Strong executive presence and is a sought-after presenter for high profile partner/industry meetings/events
  • Establish impactful relationships with peers at partner organizations
  • Architect product solution and scale operational models through tools and process implementation
  • Assist in onboarding, and mentoring team members


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Android development and usage various SDKs, Frameworks and libraries
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience - software engineering or partner/business engineering
  • Advanced software development experience in languages and environments such as Java, NDK(C++) and/or PHP
  • 6+ years of industry experience in Android
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta
  • Expertise in AOSP (Android Open Source Platform)
  • Experience to take on complex and ambiguous problems


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication, analytical, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with the Android/AR/VR product development lifecycle
  • Comfortable working with other software developers
  • Experience communicating with external parties
  • Experience with technical advocacy and Kotlin
  • Practical knowledge of Android hardware as an Android enthusiast
  • Experience communicating in English fluently and idiomatically
