Altus Group is currently seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to help lead its growth initiatives in this exciting market for Altus' state and local tax practice, which includes property tax, sales tax, incentives, and unclaimed property services.This position will work withexecutive and business development leadership to develop and execute go to market strategy aroundAltus's US Tax services.

The role of the Business Development Manager is to develop and foster relationships with prospective clients of the business, to show them how we can add value to their business and become a long-term partner with them. While a majority of time is spent positioning new client opportunities, some cross selling may be required.The Business Development Manager is also a market facing role, attending conferences and networking events (when safe to do so) to promote our company and services, and developing and cultivating relationships that can generate new business.

Qualified candidates will have a referenceable track record of working in a team environment to sell professional services, preferably with experience in selling real estate and other state and local tax services, as well as experiencein working with CRM systems, such as Salesforce or other comparable products, and an ability to work comfortably with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Key Responsibilities:

New Business Development

  • Prospect for new clients and turn this into increased business with a robust pipeline of opportunities to drive financial growth for our state and local tax services
  • Identify potential clients with whom we have no recent engagements and the decision makers within the client company
  • Lead negotiations, coordinate complex decision making with management and overcome objections to close deals
  • Achieve annual goals and sales targets
Market Strategy
  • With executive and business development leadership, develop and execute go to market strategy for key industries and prospects
  • Track existing client base for new opportunities
Public Relations
  • Represent the company at key industry and client events, build and maintain the necessary contacts to keep current on emerging issues of significance
  • Attend industry functions such as network events, conferences and trade shows, and provide feedback and information on market trends (when safe to do so)
  • Coordinate and participate in promotional activities and trade shows to market Altus services to prospective clients (when safe to do so)
Client Relationship Management
  • Build and nurture client relationships to identify business opportunities for Altus
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing client base
  • Maintain and keep current CRM database updated (Salesforce)
  • Identify and promote upselling and cross selling opportunities to existing client base

Position Requirements:
  • 4-year university or college degree
  • 5-10 years prior working experience in business development and sales, both cold and warm calling, is required
  • Experience in the Dallas real estate market required
  • Experience and/or knowledge of state & local taxes is preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge and use of Salesforce or a similar CRM system
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions on own, as well as being able to work with a team
  • Extremely organized and proactive
  • Ability to network, make new connections, and build relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
