Our Business Analysts identify and analyze business needs, gather requirements, and define scope and objectives for applications integrated with business processes/data and IT infrastructure.

This is an onsite position at our Meridian Idaho campus, and will report to the Manager Enrollment & Billing. The BA will interact with various Blue Cross of Idaho departments.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Technical Subject area or related field; OR equivalent work experience (Two years' relevant work experience equals one year of college)

Required Experience:

Analyst I: none specifically required, though experience in analysis, enterprise business processes, and/or operational improvement is preferred

Analyst II: 3/+ years' as Business Analyst or related experience


  • Knowledge of gathering and documenting business requirements, process mapping methodologies, and project management

  • Collaboration & communication - may also lead cross-functional project teams. Ability to represent the department on committees and hold decision authority

  • Analytical skills such as problem solving, process improvement. Analyze business operations, business development, and assist with development of process and system specifications

  • Presentation, facilitation, and written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to help influence results and outcomes, connect with both technical and business teams, and engage with internal/external customers

  • Ability to be a self-starter, while balancing multiple tasks and meeting benchmarks

  • Microsoft Office Suite, and knowledge of pulling queries as well as hands-on working experience within SQL and/or Tableau.


We'd love it if our BA also has:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in a business or health related field)

  • Healthcare/Insurance experience to include knowledge of enrollment and billing processes

  • Experience coordinating with IT on software development projects

  • Facets, Salesforce and/or CRM experience

  • Benefit Focus or other online enrollment technologies experience

  • Experience in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies


Your day may look like:

  • Recommending solutions or improvements to business processes.

  • Researching business requirements, develop detailed specifications, and validate the solutions with business partners.

  • Communicating needs to the development team by translating business requirements.

  • With IT support, assist in the development of tools, applications, reports, and analytics to enable strategic programs and metrics for the Enrollment & Billing department.

  • Troubleshooting technical issues and work through a resolution (root cause analysis).

  • Planning and executing business user acceptance testing and related test activities.
