Overview

The Branch Manager is responsible for managing the facilitation of member service transactions and support services to positively impact member experience, sales and service expectations. In addition, the Branch Manager serves as a community extension of Northwest and is responsible for providing information on Northwest's financial products and services in order to increase engagement and awareness of the Northwest brand. The Branch Manager is also responsible for the overall management of the branch and ensuring that branch employees facilitate member service transactions and which will positively impact member experience, sales and service expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supervising overall development and performance of all branch employees, which will include but not limited to training employees, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Select and hire new employees; professionally on-board, develop, coach and evaluate the staff
  • Provide operational oversight of transactions, cash control, branch security, audits, internal controls, compliance, policies and procedures
  • Identify skill gaps of the staff and work with the branch leadership team and Talent Development Team
  • Work with senior management in establishing growth, sales, and profit objectives for the branch; provides input to these objectives and the manner in which performance will be measured and controlled
  • Responsible for attaining branch goals; implements strategies to achieve branch goals; assists in the development of the annual budget and adheres to budget parameters
  • Delegate business relationship management responsibilities and oversees results
  • Performs Notary and Signature Guarantee duties
  • Maintain department policy and procedure documentation accordingly
  • Ensure compliance with operational, security and control policies/procedures, preventing fraud and protecting member assets
  • Proactively identify opportunities to provide product/service solutions to members
  • Provide exceptional member experiences
  • Provide operational oversight, support, and resolve escalated requests
  • Work in partnership with teams across the organization to deliver on projects that improve visibility into the member experience
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience, Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a comparable financial institution or more than three years retail service and sales experience in a consumer or small business environment
  • A minimum two years previous experience in a leadership/coaching role
  • Experience with client service and relationship skill building; proactive sales skills and the ability to meet service and sales goals
  • Accuracy and detail orientation
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of NWFCU, Federal and state regulations required by the National Credit Union Association
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and/or with members
  • Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy and to exercise sound judgment, logic and initiative while maintaining member confidentiality
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Effective sales techniques
  • Ability to work Monday-Thursday 9AM -5PM, Friday 9AM-6PM, and Saturday 9AM-1PM
