The Benefits Analyst is part of the Mueller Total Rewards Team and focuses on all benefit areas such as Health and Welfare, Retirement- 401k and Pension, Wellness, and other employee Work/Life Balance programs. This position function as the main point of contact for all benefits related questions and issues from employees, managers, HR team members, and external contacts. In addition, this position plays an important role in new and ongoing projects, benefit program rollouts, annual open enrollment, and Workday benefit configuration.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Manage all incoming benefit questions and issues and utilizing appropriate resources to implement a resolution.

  • Assist with the annual open enrollment process for Active and COBRA participants, including working with the broker on communication materials and the HRIS team on updates to Workday benefits.

  • Coordinate the wellness program by partnering with the 3rd party administrator and the HR team, to assist with the communications of the program and calculating the final results for achievement rewards.

  • Assist in the implementation of benefits plan design changes and participate in special projects such as the consolidation of plans, consolidation of vendors, and implementation of new programs.

  • Administer the 401k plan through the 3rd party vendor, validate/resolve issues, and approve withdraws.

  • Work with 3rd party administrator of the Pension plan, approve new participant payments, process retiree death claims and coordinate resolution to any participant issues.

  • Help monitor HIPAA compliance, training, and distribution of all benefits compliance documents, i.e., SPDs, Funding Notices, SARs, etc.

  • Monitor Workday benefits on-line access for New Hires, Rehires, Life Events, and work with the HRIS team on any enrollment waiting period, benefit plan or rate table changes

  • Reconcile/create all monthly benefit invoices and process for payment or funding as required

  • Investigate and summarize any benefit issue that requires action by the Employee Benefits Administrative Committee and present these at the quarterly or ad hoc meetings

  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • 3+ years benefits administration experience (including health insurance, 401(k) and pension programs)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be detail and process oriented

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal working relationships with both internal and external customers.

  • Previous experience evaluating and improving processes.
