Position Summary:
To provide case management support and counseling to assigned adult clients with a severe and persistent mental disorder; engage clients and families in a therapeutic alliance; perform functional assessments within their expertise; provide therapeutic and rehabilitative interventions as directed; coordinate rehabilitation planning and periodic review for assigned clients who are participating in independent living skills training programs.

Position Qualifications:
To perform this successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree in human services/health related field preferred.
  • (2) Two years experience in the field of behavioral health or similar community service, with at least two years experience with adults with severe and persistent mental illness preferred. Other professional/responsible work experience may be substituted on a case by case basis.
  • Valid Alaska Driver's License.
  • Basic counseling skills and knowledge of rehabilitative services for SMI adults. Good verbal and writing communication skills. Bilingual Yup'ik/English preferred.
