Typical Day in the Life

A typical day as an Audit Manager/Senior Manager- Higher Education (Remote Eligible) might include the following:

  • Lead a client engagement meeting with a client in Higher Education to determine timelines and goals of an audit. This role will support these clients for both the Boise and Southern CA markets.
  • Work with the audit team to ensure completion of the audit engagement -- including gathering information, planning and risk assessment, assigning tasks, reviewing higher risk areas, compiling client financial data and report writing (as needed), and communicating results with the client.
  • Research business trends in order to professionally represent the company and apply this knowledge to the client's solutions, potentially developing new or additional business for the Firm.
  • Review team's final financial analysis upon completion of fieldwork in an effort to improve client internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Develop, train and mentor Audit Interns, Audit Associates or Senior Audit Associates on projects and assess both personal and professional performance for engagement and career development opportunities.
  • Network, build relationships and attract new clients or business to the Firm.
  • Attend training seminars, professional development and networking events.
  • This role has career growth opportunity available for someone looking to be on the Partner track.

Who You Are
  • You have prior Audit experience working with Higher Education clients (required). Additional experience in general Governmental audit preferred, as this role could assist with some governmental clients as well.
  • Experience with auditing the Student Financial Assistance Cluster required.
  • You are inquisitive and enjoy learning about various client business processes and traveling to different locations to help clients (Travel may be required at times).
  • You like developing others and providing constructive feedback to other team members.
  • You are a multi-tasking master, and there has never been a deadline you could not meet.
  • You have knowledge of and exposure to a variety of industries, including government.
  • You hold yourself to the highest professional standards and maintain strict client confidentiality.
  • For a Manager position, you have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, have an active CPA license and have 4+ years of experience in public accounting/audit.
  • For a Senior Manager position, you have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, have an active CPA license, and have 7+ years of experience in public accounting audit work.
  • This role may be remote based or located at one of our Eide Bailly offices including Boise, ID or Southern CA.
Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future.
