Position Summary:

Provides functional, technical and process guidance to ensure the company's treatment of associates is fair, respectful, and consistent with our core values and policies promoting positive working relationships and driving associate engagement with the brands business and priorities. Conducts thorough and confidential employment investigations and maintains accurate record keeping in the case management system. Promotes positive working relationships and drives associate engagement with retail leaders and associates

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports Pro Associate environment by:
    • Routine on-site focus store assessments and pro associate support
    • Identifying risks or areas of concern utilizing multiple sources of data and intimate knowledge of area.
    • Creating action plan(s) to address and build or reinforce a positive and engaging associate relations culture in partnership with AR Manager.
    • Facilitates listening sessions with management and associates, ensuring objectivity and that action plans are identified and implemented with management.
  • Conducts investigations as assigned to resolve internal and external causes for associate concerns in support of our open door and appeal policy.
  • Documents, collects, maintains investigative files and evidence that support investigative findings and results in the case management system.
  • Provides on-site support for crisis management, workplace violence and critical incidents as needed.
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with business partner and retail leaders and supports business results through supportive employee relations strategies and tactics.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Solid understanding of a variety of the HR concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Solid understanding of state and federal laws associated with employee relations, including, but not limited to: FMLA, ADA, wage and hour laws, and NLRB and EEOC case rulings.
  • Proficient in database management and MS Office: Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint.
  • Must reside in divisional geography.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience delivering training and handling AR investigations.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or Personnel & Industrial Relations
  • Or Bachelor's degree in related discipline and a minimum of 3 years HR/related work experience,
  • Or High School diploma and a minimum of 5 years HR/related work experience.
Experience:
  • 1 or more years as an HR Business Partner or Employee Relations Specialist.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Solid interpersonal, influencing, and persuasion skills and the ability to work well with a team.
  • Ability to establish partnerships by working with associates at all levels and across the organization.
  • Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity under high pressure situations.
  • High-quality judgment and sound decision-making.
  • Ability to remain objective in all situations and provide coaching to leaders as needed.
  • Able to handle confidential information in a mature and professional manner.
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver which includes, but not limited to, the ability to recognize trends and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to interpret company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Ability to organize multiple activities which require close attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Acts with sense of urgency, bias for action.
  • Ability to be seen as an advisor and advocate.
Physical:
  • Must have Class C driver's License.
Travel:
  • 75% as needed
