Associate Project Manager

Main Office (MOS)

OVERVIEW
As an Associate Project Manager, you will be responsible for the execution of Sun's agile and lean project management process. You will plan, coordinate and facilitate activities for the successful execution of small/mid-size projects and enhancements within the portfolio. You will create and maintain project schedules and foster communication between technical and non-technical audiences.

JOB DUTIES

  • Manages small/mid-size project initiatives.
  • Creates and maintains project documentation in accordance with project management guidelines; Communicates project status to leadership through standard project documentation.
  • Develops appropriate communications for team members, management, sponsors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Creates project plans and timelines.
  • Ensures the assigned technology project is implemented within scope, according to the project budget, and within the project timeline.
  • Coordinates project tasks and facilitates efforts and communication between stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with business and information technology teams to ensure sufficient documentation is gathered for the development team to successfully code and deploy solutions.
  • Prepares and maintains meeting minutes for all project meetings; tracks and follows-up on all open items.
  • Facilitates all major deliverable approvals during the project lifecycle
  • Submits process improvement recommendations and partners with the business to manage business change.
  • Conducts project retrospective meetings to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in in Information Technology, Project Management, or related field. (Required)
  • 3 years experience coordinating activities related to projects/implementations.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) projects.
  • Working knowledge of project management procedures and terminology.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and achieve quality results.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional team that will include members of Sr. Leadership.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Advanced computer proficiency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
