The Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC) and the Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Sleep Disorders and Neurodegenerative Diseases. Applicants must have an M.D. degree. Board-certified (or board eligible) in neurology as well as in sleep medicine.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching of medical students, residents, graduate students, and fellows, as well as formal lecture opportunities within the department.

Clinical responsibilities may include out-patient consultations for sleep disorders as well as interpretation of sleep studies, and in-patient neurology consultations.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing collaborative and independent research programs related to traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's Disease, PTSD, and autism. Research will be accomplished by supervision of postdoctoral fellows, students, and research staff, coordinating federally-funded grant efforts with local, national, and international collaborators, and participation in writing grants, reports, and manuscripts.
