PURPOSE FOR THE ASSOCIATE PRODUCT MANAGER: Primary responsibilities include learning the skills of Product Management and support of the Product Management team. Day to day activities include tactics to support the short and long-term strategy of the relevant product line(s) and to develop the skills for advancement in Product Management.

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES) FOR ASSOCIATE PRODUCT MANAGER

  • Assisting the Product Management Team - The Associate Product Manager works with the Product Managers and Senior Product Managers in the completion of tactical activities and to achieve the long-term vision and strategy for our products and services as a leader in the welding industry.
  • Collaboration - Works collaboratively across functions. The Associate Product Manager role is part of a team that focuses on ensuring that the product portfolio is positioned favorably in the market and fosters excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Teamwork - Ability to work with diverse, cross-functional teams with demonstrated indirect leadership skills.
  • Product Marketing - Collaborates with Product Management and Marketing to communicate the value proposition of our products in literature, digital advertising, product promotions, and other marketing collateral.
  • Basic Financial Analysis - Learn and understand basic financial metrics that include sales revenue and gross margin to be able to monitor financial performance and adjust pricing strategy as needed.
  • Market Research - Work with Sales and Engineering teams to understand market positioning, competitors, market trends, and business opportunities.
  • Sales Channel Support - Provides support to commercial team and customers through all channels.
  • New Product Development - Works with Product Management and engineering teams to identify market needs, develop the business case, and execute on new product development and supporting marketing collateral.
  • Product Training & Support - Day-to-day product support for customers and Lincoln personnel.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company's 2025 Strategy.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ASSOCIATE PRODUCT MANAGER
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field. Associate Degree in the same fields with 2+ years of relevant experience. Equivalent experience in lieu of education will be considered.
  • Understanding of welding practices, procedures, and products preferred
  • Ability to grasp technical details
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team on tactical projects across multiple areas of the organization
  • Fluent in all Microsoft Office applications and SAP or the ability to learn quickly
  • Willingness to travel approximately 15% of the time

PURPOSE FOR THE PRODUCT MANAGER: Primary responsibilities are product line ownership including product line life cycle management, market research and understanding, business plan development, and new product development

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES) FOR THE PRODUCT MANAGER
  • Becoming a Subject Matter Expert - Develop and maintain a moderate understanding of assigned product line.
  • Product Line Ownership - Broad range of activities that include creating the roadmap of the product line, new product development, mature product promotion, and maintenance of assigned product line.
  • Market Research - Manage the continuous research process to capture voice of the customer, industry trends, competitive intelligence, and business trends.
  • Business Case Creation - Works with Senior Product Manager or business unit manager to propose data driven product improvements or new product development to drive incremental sales and profit.
  • New Product Development - Work with dedicated engineering team as a marketing/business stakeholder throughout the new product development process.
  • New Product Launches - Assists Senior Product Manager or business unit manager in creating launch strategies and commercially implementing with Sales, Marketing, R&D, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Product Marketing - Collaborates with Product Management and Marketing to communicate the value proposition of our products in literature, digital advertising, product promotions, and other marketing collateral.
  • Financial Analysis - Develop sound financial acumen to monitor portfolio performance to help make strategic decisions to enhance performance of the product line.
  • Sales Channel Support - Provides support to commercial team and customers through all channels to monitor and grow sales.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company's 2025 Strategy.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PRODUCT MANAGER
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field and 3+ years of relevant experience. Associate Degree in the same fields with 5+ years of relevant experience. Equivalent experience in lieu of education will be considered.
  • Understanding of welding practices, procedures, and products preferred
  • Ability to grasp technical details
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrate a strong business acumen or the desire to learn relatively quickly
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team on tactical projects across multiple areas of the organization
  • Fluent in all Microsoft Office applications and SAP or the ability to learn quickly
  • Willingness to travel approximately 15% of the time
