The Role in Brief:
Associate Director, Research Growth Strategy
The Research Growth Strategy Group is responsible for supporting strong contract value expansion of existing products (approximately 70% of the Group's effort and contribution to firm goals) and identifying and launching new products and services (approximately 30%). Associate Directors are aligned with EAB's major partner segments and each is responsible for one of the following segments: research-intensive universities, regional private colleges, K-12 and international.
A major part of this role is to develop and maintain deep, actionable understanding of the "voice of the market" in higher education: anticipating competitive and regulatory changes where EAB can improve its value proposition; analyzing how partners consume EAB content to improve utilization and satisfaction; understanding university and district budget and spending practices to inform pricing and contracting approaches; monitoring competitors to ensure EAB's market positioning remains unique and compelling.
You will be responsible for translating your deep understanding of the market for the second major part of the role: supporting sales and renewals, through analysis of the visit acquisition and evaluation pipeline to identify product-led sales performance improvement opportunities; analysis of general renewal drivers and diagnosing product redesign "fixes" to programs facing growth challenges; collateral creation to support a spectrum of sales and renewal interactions. Deep quantitative and qualitative segment analysis of growth opportunities and obstacles by institutional type, region and buyer persona will be involved. You will interact closely with colleagues in sales, marketing and account management to design and execute these growth efforts.
You will also interact closely with Research product teams in setting research agendas, evolving product design, and perfecting partner use-cases for EAB product content and services. You will manage a team of 1-2 analysts.
This role is based in Washington D.C. This position may require occasional travel (10-20%) to partner college and university campuses once standard office operations safely resume.
