Summary

The candidate will work in the Informatics Data Science & Engineering team to help build and utilize a big-data platform for cancer genomics supporting global R&D Translational Science needs. This is a hands-on technical role in which the candidate aggregates clinical, research, and IoT data to enable healthcare collaboration and provide analytic capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Manage and Evolve global data platforms for Translational Research, Clinical Trials Operations, Clinical Study, Clinical Samples and Regulatory Science. Architect and enable technologies & platforms to facilitate data science practice
  • Design and implement computational bioinformatics methods to analyze and interpret data from a wide variety of sources including clinical data, external literature, high throughput genomic data, clinical study data , sample annotations & biomarker data
  • Utilize APIs, data exploration and data visualization tools and bioinformatics techniques to support discovery and pre-clinical/clinical studies such as new disease indication identification and biomarker development
  • Collaborate with domain experts in privacy, security, and compliance to ensure that the R&D data platforms uphold privacy, security, and compliance requirements

Qualifications: Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)

Master's Degree Master's Degree required in Bio Informatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or a related field with focus on data analysis from an accredited college or university required. PhD preferred.

Experience Qualifications

  • 7 or More Years of experience in life sciences, pharma or informatics industry working with Clinical Trials Data, Genomics / Biomarkers, Real World, Discovery Data etc. required

  • 7 or More Years of hands on experience of applying data science methods and tools to diverse problems using R and/or Python. Expert programmer in at least one language, with experience working in production environments. We have a strong preference for R, python and Java required

  • 4 or More Years of experience with statistical analysis, bioinformatics/genomics tools (GATK, BEDtools, VCFtools, STAR aligner, DEseq, etc.) and databases is strongly preferred required

  • 4 or More Years of experience with existing and upcoming statistical methods (supervised and unsupervised) in pharmaceutical data analysis required

  • 4 or More Years of experience with Big Data Technologies (Spark, Hadoop etc.) required

  • 4 or More Years of proven ability to work in a global and highly matrix environment preferred
