Position Overview

Novelis is searching for an Associate Auditor to join our Corporate and North America Region Internal Audit team who will be responsible for assessing risks, evaluating operation effectiveness and efficiency, and following up on audit observations to build and maintain a robust control environment.

The Associate Auditor will assist Audit Leads with conducting complex financial, operational and compliance audits domestically and globally. Furthermore, the auditor will assist in departmental continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team productivity and standardization.
Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Participate in audit and non-audit projects globally (i.e., North America, South America, Europe and Asia) to evaluate that proper accounting and operational controls are in place and follow management guidelines and company policy and procedures.
  • Obtain, analyze, and appraise evidentiary data and provide informed and objective opinion to the Audit Lead on the adequacy and effectiveness of controls.
  • Document procedures, testing, and observations to ensure compliance with professional standards.
  • Report audit findings clearly and concisely (orally and written) to the Audit Lead and management.
  • Prepare and participate in audit engagement meetings with management.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams on business process projects and system implementation projects as needed.
  • Aid management on Whistleblower investigations and special projects as they arise.
  • Perform other duties, including administrative functions, as required.
  • Travel to business locations domestically and globally as needed (note: 30% travel estimate).

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 3+ years of total experience - public accounting experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience in data analytics and using analytics tools (e.g., ACL, Power BI).
  • Strong analytical & critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exposure to COSO framework and Sarbanes-Oxley regulation is a plus.
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural, dynamic, and challenging environment.
  • Must be a self-starter and a team player to establish strong working relationships.
  • Working towards industry certifications (i.e., CPA, CIA, CISA or equivalent).
  • Ability to speak other languages is a plus, but not required.
Location Profile

Novelis' Global Corporate Headquarters is located in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta Georgia and employs approximately 250 people. It is co-located with Novelis' North America regional office which employs approximately 225 people.
