Overview

The Associate Director, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will be the primary financial partner for Insmed's Clinical, Regulatory, and Medical teams (this includes Clinical Operations, Clinical Development, Biometrics, Medical Writing, Regulatory Affairs, Drug Safety & PV, Medical Affairs, and Field Medical).

The Associate Director will support the teams in preparation of budgets, latest estimates, and strategic investments for growth. The position will be responsible for the end-to-end tactical execution of recurring financial requirements across partner functions and for ensuring alignment across related teams. S/he will support the Senior Director, FP&A to ensure comprehensive financial support for the management and analysis of overall R&D programs, including cross-functional support strategies (such as program leadership team representation, IT projects, etc). In addition, s/he will partner with business areas as needed to support special initiatives.

Responsibilities

Additional representative responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

  • Serve as the lead financial business partner for Insmed's Global Clinical, Regulatory, and Medical functions to ensure budgets and latest estimates are collated, aligned, presented, and tracked for quarterly and annual planning processes. Collect and consolidate required information for recurring projections, variance analyses, and management reports.
  • Oversee financial tracking for clinical trials and work with teams to develop short- and long-range forecasts.
  • Develop long-range R&D and manufacturing forecasts for key drug candidates in development.
  • Work collaboratively with Global FP&A community to drive alignment within functions for Regional activities.
  • Collaborate with Tech Ops to ensure appropriate alignment of assumptions and support for Clinical supply.
  • Provide accurate and timely support of purchase requisition and invoice requirements for supported teams in accordance with Procurement and AP processes. Support business partners in related training and process improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with business areas and Accounting team to ensure timely and accurate book closing and accruals for all supported functional areas.
  • Support Senior Director in partnership with Procurement in support of major contract review/analysis to ensure financial viability and minimize risk to Insmed.
  • Support Accounting and Audit teams with review and input on applicable initiatives. Maintain internal control environment to the highest standards of compliance and integrity including compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX).
  • Support FP&A team on ad-hoc analysis as needed, including but not limited to long range planning, scenario analysis, resource analysis, etc. Support Head of FP&A on ad-hoc analysis as needed, including but not limited to long range planning, scenario analysis, resource analysis, etc.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field required, MBA a plus
  • Approximately 7-10 years of relevant financial experience (with advanced degree, all relevant experience will be considered); Experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry strongly preferred
  • Experience with ERP and financial planning systems is required; Oracle experience is a plus
  • Experienced in developing executive level presentations and reporting packages/dashboards
  • Strong analytical stills and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Committed to timeline-driven process associated with monthly closings, reporting deadlines, quarterly forecasts, and other ad-hoc projects
  • Dedicated team player with strong critical thinking skills; Ability to work well in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and manage multiple priorities in a changing environment
  • Must successfully exhibit Insmed's core corporate competencies
  • Individuals must demonstrate the ability to interact successfully in a dynamic & culturally diverse workplace


Travel Requirements

Travel is minimal for this position (less than 5%)

Salary Range

Insmed takes into consideration a combination of candidate's education, training, and experience as well as the position's scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.
The base salary range for this job is from $135,000.00 to $188,333.00
