Tenure-Track Physics Faculty Position

Wellesley College

The Department of Physics invites applications for a tenure track position to begin in the fall of 2022. Applications at all ranks will be considered but hires at the assistant professor level will be preferred. Successful applicants will have demonstrated excellence in teaching, a strong commitment to undergraduate education and a well-developed plan to establish an active on-campus research program with meaningful student involvement. All fields of research will be considered, including those at interdisciplinary boundaries. The college is dedicated to building a culturally diverse and pluralistic faculty and is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching and service. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in physics or closely related field, ABD considered.

Wellesley is a selective liberal arts college for women located 12 miles west of Boston. Our Physics Department has a long tradition of providing high-quality scientific training that prepares our students to succeed in top graduate programs in physics and a variety of other disciplines. We are committed to sustaining a community where everyone feels welcomed and valued. Our physics majors (currently about 25 per year and growing) are a highly diverse and dynamic group of students.
