Job Summary:The Department of Kinesiology in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation at the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications to fill a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a talented, committed faculty to make substantial contributions to the continued growth of our academic and research programs in a thriving department. Our department is particularly interested in individuals who can make a significant contribution to programming and research in health and disease across the lifespan. Candidates with expertise in all areas related to Kinesiology and Exercise Science will be considered. However, preference will be given to individuals with a focus on Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences (including motor development, motor control, motor learning, biomechanics, or rehabilitation sciences).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The position will involve time devoted to teaching, research scholarly activities, and service. If hired, the candidate will be expected to establish themselves in the following areas:
All candidates must have an earned doctoral degree in Kinesiology, or a closely related field. Competitive applicants are expected to have a demonstrated track record of scholarly achievement as evidenced by a publication history as well as a record of obtaining external grant funding or a strong promise for obtaining future external funding. A dedicated commitment to teaching and mentorship for undergraduate and graduate students is also required.
Preferred Qualifications:Candidates with expertise in all areas related to Kinesiology and Exercise Science will be considered. However, preference will be given to candidates able to make significant contributions to the department's overarching theme of research in health and disease across the lifespan with a focus on Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences (including motor development, motor control, motor learning, biomechanics, or rehabilitation sciences).
Department Information:The Department of Kinesiology houses undergraduate and graduate programs in movement and rehabilitation science, integrative & applied physiology, physical education, public health, and athletic training to over 1,700 majors. Among the many undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department, this open faculty position is most related to the BS and MS degrees in Exercise Science and the nationally ranked PhD degree in Kinesiology. Faculty in the Department of Kinesiology are funded by a wide range of agencies, including the National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Science Foundation, the American Heart Association, Health Resources and Services Administration, and many others.
The University of Texas at Arlington and the Department of Kinesiology offer all faculty members access to state-of-the-art research facilities. In addition, the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex is a hot-bed for biomedical and health-related research; the Department of Kinesiology and College of Nursing and Health Innovation have existing collaborations with regional, national, and internationally recognized institutions. Our faculty's vast teaching experience, research expertise, and dedication to service provide rich learning experiences across the department's academic programs. Collaboration with colleagues in colleges/schools including the College of Education, College of Engineering, and The School of Social Work are common.
