Responsibilities

The Department of Biological Science at Florida State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the broadly defined area of Genetics. Successful candidates are expected to establish a productive and extramurally funded research program, such as major NIH or NSF grant funding, and to contribute to undergraduate teaching in genetics, developmental, or cell biology, and graduate education by supervising Biology PhD students.

Qualifications

A doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate is required, along with a demonstrated record of achievement in research. Candidates who take a molecular or genetics-based approach to study fundamental or innovative questions in developmental biology, mechanisms of disease, or cell biology, using any animal, plant, tissue, or cellular systems will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

Postdoctoral training in the field of specialization is preferred.
