Responsibilities

The Department of Psychology at Florida State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology with a start date in August 2024. Responsibilities will include conducting and publishing research in Clinical Psychology, teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and providing service to the department through work on committees.

Qualifications

Ph.D. or the highest degree appropriate from an accredited institution in Clinical Psychology or a related field.

In addition, candidates must have a strong research program with a high likelihood of obtaining extramural funding and the potential for excellent teaching and mentoring. Candidates with lines of research in any area of Clinical Psychology are encouraged to apply.

The Department of Psychology has a vibrant faculty, superb Ph.D. students, outstanding resources, a favorable teaching load, and a collegial atmosphere. Candidates will find an outstanding research infrastructure and relatively new laboratory space. Department faculty are very active in research, with Ph.D. programs in clinical, cognitive, neuroscience, social, and developmental psychology. The department has a fully-staffed electronics and machine shop and faculty have access to core equipment and resources (e.g., a confocal microscope and common-use histology/molecular laboratory in the building and numerous other shared resources across the department and campus). FSU has a state-of-the-art research-dedicated MRI center featuring a 3T Siemens Prisma scanner, an MR-compatible high-density EEG system, MR-compatible TMS and tES systems, as well as peripheral equipment.
