Job Description

The Physical Education, Recreation, and Athletics (PERA)Department is seeking an individual with experience in working within a community of diverse students and colleagues. Successful candidates will by their administrative, professional skills, leadership and service demonstrate they can contribute to the diversity and excellence of athletics, the department and our community. The Department is currently accepting applications for a part-time appointment as Assistant Coach of Women's Golf. This is a part-time, 4 month, February-May (.40 FTE) faculty position and is not benefits eligible. The salary is $4000. Appointments are made on an annual basis. If the contract is renewed, the salary is $10,000 for a ten-month appointment August-May.

Women's Golf Responsibilities: Assist the head coach with all aspects of the program including but not limited to recruiting, fundraising, tournament operations, on-course coaching, and other duties as assigned. Availability to weekends is required. Assistant Coaches at Wellesley College are employed on a part-time basis. This part-time position will also provide significant opportunities to earn additional compensation by teaching lessons.

Facilities: Nehoiden Golf Course, located on the campus of Wellesley College is one of the oldest nine-hole course in the country. It serves as the practice and competitive home for the golf team. A Full Swing Golf simulator is located in the Keohane Sports Center and is available all year for training and lessons.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • LPGA/PGA membership is preferred.
  • Qualifications should include competitive playing experience, and an interest in coaching.
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required upon hire.
  • Must possess a valid US driver's license.
  • This position requires a full background check including driving record as a condition of employment.
  • All employees hired after August 2, 2021 are required to upload proof of vaccination against COVID-19, subject to approved medical or religious exemptions or disability accommodations.

Salary and Start Date: The Assistant Golf Coach is a part time (.40 FTE, no benefits) faculty position with an annual salary of $4,000. The position begins on February 1, 2022.
