Job Summary:

The Title III Assessment and Data Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring that Spelman College demonstrates that the impact of Title III funds is assisting the College in ensuring its continual viability. The position will support the College's efforts to collect, analyze, and document the outcomes due to Title III funding. This position will report to Director of Title III.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides data collection, data assessment and generate reports for Title III Office.
  • Assists in developing each activity's objectives and performance indicators to ensure measurability and a clear delineation of anticipated outcomes.
  • Designs and implements formal and informal assessment strategies and methods to collect, analyze, and document the Title III programs' ongoing effectiveness and activities.
  • Conducts ongoing communication with Title III Activity Directors to monitor the progress toward attaining the objectives and performance indicators.
  • Conducts a quarterly meeting with each Activity Director to review the intermittent outcomes attained due to implementing programmatic strategies.
  • Assists activity directors in preparing the activity's mid-and end-of-the-year progress monitoring reports.
  • Establishes methods to capture and report on patterns and trends of information needs to inform program offerings and resource planning.
  • Guides, instructs and consults staff and other strategic partners on data collection, analysis, visualization, and interpretation as needed.
  • Assists activity directors in assessing and documenting the extent to which the infusion of Title III funds has impacted target group participants' performance.
  • Assists activity directors in assessing the impact of Title III funding on the effectiveness and efficiency of the College's operations.
  • Serves as a liaison to support all Title III program activities related to data collection and assessment.
Required Qualifications:

A Master's degree preferred. Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years of directly related experience, education, and training. Must possess demonstrated experience in survey design and analysis, data management and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues and diverse populations. Experience conducting assessment and evaluation projects and training staff on assessment and data management practices preferred.Excellent writing skills required, with the ability to develop, write, read and interpret documents such as federal regulations, College and Title III policies and procedures, manuals, handbooks, newsletters, business correspondence, reports, etc. The incumbent must have excellent proofreading skills. The ability to speak effectively when interacting with the public and the entire Spelman community; when presenting information and responding to questions from all levels of the campus community and the general public. Must have excellent time management, and project management skills with attention to details. Experience working on project teams and using project management techniques and tools. Experience with outreach to students, faculty, and staff in an academic institution is a plusTo perform this job successfully, an individual must have proficient/advanced computer skills using the Microsoft Office suite including, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; with the ability to create and manipulate such things as general correspondence, electronic reports, spreadsheets and presentations. Must be able to utilize an email and calendar system, such as Microsoft, and be internet savvy. Experience with software used by U. S. Department of Education for submission of applications and reports and financial information (GAPS), etc. preferred. Experience in using survey tools (Qualtrics preferred), statistical software, Google Analytics, etc.) preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's degree preferred.
Experience conducting assessment and evaluation projects and training staff on assessment and data management practices preferred.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: talk, sit, hear, walk use hands to operate computer and other office equipment. The employee is frequently required to: stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to: climb, and lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
