ASSEMBLY-PACKAGING TECHNICIAN

Comar is looking to hire advanced assembly operators to work in a clean room environment manufacturing a new line of medical devices. The purpose-built clean room will house industry leading molding, automation, and robotic technologies and will be managed by a small, highly skilled, and cross trained team. The right candidate will have experience in clean room environments, medical focused processes, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Hours: Full-Time position with paid overtime.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Inspect, maintain, and drive assembly machine production.
  • Maintain safe and efficient completion of all service requests encompassing all facility and production equipment to constantly meet customer on-time product delivery expectations.
  • Conduct daily inspections of production equipment to monitor performance, recommend appropriate preventative maintenance (PM) repairs, and record findings.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance for production systems & equipment to sustain optimal availability and reliability, and safe operating status.
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment according to operating manual, schematics, blueprints, and external technical assistance.
  • Perform in-process parts inspection to Comar standards.
  • Validate equipment is operating safely and to OEM / Comar standards.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery.
  • Install or replace electrical components.
  • Follow company containment procedures for non-conforming ware.
  • Write legibly and practice proper Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a manufacturing area.
  • Responsible for production recording, maintaining a safe work environment and following 5S standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining the highest quality parts produced, production performance, Statistical Process Controls (SPC) and documentation.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Gather data on equipment and system performance to determine root cause using test and diagnostics equipment.
  • Assist in training fellow team members in the work cell to drive for optimum performance.
  • Work flexible shifts and overtime as needed and maintain reliable attendance.

  • Follow all required Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practice (GDP) procedures.
  • Maintain the integrity of the cleanroom requirements in all job duties.
  • Keep work area and floors neat and orderly.
  • Wear company issued required personal protective equipment (PPE) for an ISO-8 Class cleanroom environment.

Do You Have…?
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience or training.
  • Basic math skills - add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Familiarity with AC, DC, and Servo motors, including troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of vision systems.
  • An understanding of continuous improvement, six sigma or lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Good time management practices.
  • Reliable and dependable attendance.
  • Flexibility with work schedule and willingness to work overtime when needed.

Preferred:
  • Vocational or trade school in related trade.
  • Prior cleanroom experience.

  • Stand for most of the work shift. Occasionally walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. Use close vision.
  • Lift and/or move up 25 pounds and occasionally more 50 to 100 lbs. with assistance of equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
