Altra Industrial Motion is currently seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to reside in "Denver or Greater Denver, CO " area and cover our Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and New Mexico territory to be responsible for the marketing of Company products including sales, forecasting, holding of meetings, application assistance for the selection of products to be sold, dissemination and obtaining of information in the designate area(s).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develops strategy, prepares annual business plan, and executes to drive growth in territory which includes new business development.
• Focus on new OEM development in assigned territory to gain market share from competition.
• Calls on engineers and other technical personnel at current and prospective customers to specify Company products and/or services.
• Develops and manages an efficient distribution network for Company products by training distributors in the sale and application of the Company's products and making joint calls on prospect/customers to meet Company growth objectives.
• Communicates with current and prospective customers as necessary to provide support, address issues and opportunities and build strong relationships to ensure profitable sales growth.
• Ensures that all commitments to prospective customers and direct accounts are met to the best of the Company's capability.
• Travel up to 25% overnight on average, which may vary based on territory, and includes being able to drive on a regular basis.

Job Requirements
Critical Competencies

• Ability to provide technical solutions to customers relating to size and selection of product, use, operation, and troubleshooting of problems.
• Ability to conduct customer training and local seminars.
• Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Strong time management and multi-tasking capability
• Ability to utilize CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent. Business (Marketing) and/or Mechanical Engineering background is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years field experience with a demonstrated strong mechanical and technical background as well as 5 years of related experience and/or training and/or prior experience in Industrial Power Transmission
