Position Summary

The Area Mobile Fleet Manager will report to the Division Mobile Fleet Manager and be responsible for protecting and managing the mobile equipment assets for multiple locations. The individual will be responsible for fleet performance and development and will work closely with vendors, manufacturers and plant management in support of Martin Marietta's workforce and program initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide coordination and guidance to assist management on fleet performance
  • Provide guidance and support to management in the area of performance-based machine evaluations, Mine Planning, and other fleet evaluations as needed
  • Provide guidance and support in the development of programs that will meet the needs of our business and industry
  • Research and identify industry specific training that would add value to MM programs
  • Assist in the planning, support, and delivery of Safety, Capital, Budgeting, & Preventive Maintenance programs
  • Assist with TERP program management for North Texas
  • Assist with the development of strategic planning and long-range mapping for fleet needs
  • Support multiple operations safety and mechanical needs
  • Establish base line measures for KPI tracking, maintenance audits, PM services, component life cycles & oil sample results
  • Track KPI's, review reports with management to recommend opportunities to reduce cost and down time
  • Review trend data for comparison and investigate abnormalities
  • Assist with ART training and Quarry Academy
  • Provide support to operations for equipment modifications
  • Problem solving during incident investigation as needed
  • Review and implementation of concept devices and tech to support safe practices
  • Fleet Performance and Development
  • Work with vendors and manufacturers on machine specs and performance
  • Identify and coordinate mobile equipment operation and maintenance training for operators
  • Lead failure analysis discussions, communicate findings to help avoid similar issues
  • Work with the safety department and vendors in the identification of needed safety, training, and teaching materials
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • BS degree in Economics, Accounting, Business or related or 2 years vocational school preferred
  • 5 years experience in Equipment Management, Dealer and Manufacturer Negotiations, workload organization and optimization, and economic impact studies preferred
  • Strong computer skills; Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Experience with JDE/CORE/MPower
  • Excellent oral, written and organizational skills
  • Extensive knowledge of MSHA regulations
  • Knowledge of reliability centered maintenance principles and predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of mining and processing equipment operations and maintenance
  • Proven strong leadership and team building skills and a track record for creating employee ownership of safety, production, and quality
  • Excellent time management as well as planning skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Proven knowledge of planning, managing resources, and project management
  • Ability to travel to locations for meetings, machine reviews, and site studies is required
  • Overnight travel as required
  • Air travel as required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours.)
  • Walk on all types of surfaces (uneven and/or slippery ground)
  • Physical ability to climb on equipment
  • Must be able to use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy items using proper lifting techniques and/or equipment
  • Drive automobile to various plant sites and work locations
  • Climb stairs and ladders as high as 100' in elevation
  • Ability to see and hear safety indicators and warnings.
  • Will have exposure to dust, cement, clay, gypsum, sand, diesel exhaust, lubricants, solvents, various fuels, etc.
