Job Title: Application Engineer I

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Research and design control systems to meet project scopes of work and budgets, including the selection and appropriate application of equipment controllers and peripheral devices.
  • Utilize Microsoft Visio to create system and control wiring diagrams for lower level projects.
  • Develop controls submittal packages and closeout documentation for assigned projects.
  • Maintain engineering project documentation for assigned projects according to company document control standards.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work, as well as submit weekly timesheet with proper time allocations.
  • Communicate effectively with all project team members for issues, concerns, or information needed.
  • Support mid to upper level projects by completing tasks delegated by higher level Application Engineers such as submittal documentation and procurement.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by recommending and implementing new standards and processes.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams and support development and training of team members.
Job Specifications (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or Construction or equivalent experience.
  • Engineering skills required include:
    • Knowledge of basic electronic circuits, mechanics, and hydraulics.
    • Knowledge of basic electrical control circuits including 24VAC power and controller input/outputs.
    • Understanding of simple controls networking principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a team environment with diverse cultures and talents.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Visio, Windows, AutoCAD are desired.
  • Working knowledge of basic TCP/IP networking and web navigation are desired.
Other Requirements and Expectations
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Most work to be done in a physical office environment, with some remote work possible as agreed on between employee and Engineering Manager.
  • Must practice safe work habits in office and construction site environments and follow all required safety protocols.

Compensation Range: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
