Basic Job Functions:
TheApplications Engineeris responsible for technical support - primarily customer quotations and business development case studies for various composite applications. Key emphasis will be on the ability to understand customer requirements and rapidly demonstrate how composite-based solutions can be utilized to provide solutions with costing, timing, and resources included in the proposals.
Additional Functions:
- Create and maintain drawing database using both AutoCad and Inventor.
- Provide submittal drawings to sales using AutoCad.
- Supply detailed component drawings to suppliers for production.
- Work with engineering, sales, dealers, and end users to understand design requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Knowledge of electric motors.
- Provide customer support regarding door installation, troubleshooting, and electrical wiring.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or other comparable engineering degree
- 3years in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- 1 yearof Continuous Improvement or Lean/Six Sigma experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Operational knowledge of condition monitoring and associate applications
- Solid understanding of understanding of designing engineering solutions.
